Does Boris need Lily to ruin his career? Her appearance on THE BIG FAT QUIZ made even Russell Brand blush. Her pronouncements on illegal substances and how to solve knife crime would gift Ken Livingstone the Mayoralty. Her descriptions of her racey love life, which includes hot lesbo action would appal middle England and wreck the Mayor’s fan base. To put in bluntly and to quote Lily’s dad, “Lily needs to learn to keep her f……. mouth shut” and since in politics, perception is all, the Mayor has made a very wise description to keep his distance.

On the contrary, I hate it when people are rude about gay people, male or female, if you read what i wrote on the Mayor’s website, www. boris-johnson.com, when I reviewed the film MILK, you will realise that I think anyone who disparages people for their sexuality is absolutely disgusting.
I hope you will believe me when i say I am appalled at how gay people, male and female were treated as recently as 30 years ago. In the US they were denied their human rights, and i would have campaigned in their favour believe me. i was just teasing about Lily Allen, but you are totally right, it was ignorant and just not funny.
My whole post was just a frivolous send up, but if it hurt your feelings it failed miserably. You have taught me to be more careful, and it isn’t just Lily who needs to learn to shut their f…. mouth!

Jillh, once again you are absolutely right. Age doesn’t matter in relationships, because some people age very quickly and some people are eternally up to dat e and modern in outlook. It’s good how you continually challenge conventional thinking. We need to get rid of these ridiculous prejudices. Lily Allen probably wouldn’t be interested in a young guy her own age, and although we might think she doesn’t have much in common with either Tony Bennett or Boris, hey, what do we know? Look at Callista Flockhart and Harrison Ford…. Still happy still together. Joan Collins and Percy,,,, still happy. My ex. was 13 years older than me and now for ages i have been with someone 11 years younger and everyone thinks he is older than me! (I am bragging now). Not that he looks old, because he doesn’t. (He is the enigmatic strong silent type.)

Jill, I was watching an episode of WILL AND GRACE in the week… SO FUNNY. Will and Jack are supposed to give a gay sensitivity seminar to the police force, and they get into a fight and starting yelling hilarious insults at each other. They think they have wrecked the seminar, but the police congratulate them and say how brave they are for showing how words can wound! So so funny! The writing is absolutely brilliant.
