Boris at the conference
Boris has been lying low in the media, “getting on with the job” as Gordon Brown so likes to say. But he reared his entertaining head yesterday at the Tory conference, discussing the progress he has made so far as Mayor, and also settling a couple of scores. Arnold Schwarzeneggar, while waiting to address last year’s Tory conference via video link, seemed highly amused by Mr Johnson’s speaking style. In a clip which became a hit on YouTube, he was heard whispering about Boris “fumbling” his words. Boris hit back yesterday, saying that “it was a low moment, my friends, to have my speaking style denounced by a monosyllabic Austrian cyborg.” Awesome! Watch some of the speech here.
