But James McGrath committed the only capital offense in politics: he made his boss look bad.

BORIS is allowed to put his foot in his mouth if he wants. Staff is not. And they are most certainly not allowed to put their feet in his mouth, especially when he still has to prove to most of London that he's not racist. McGrath was waaaaaay out of line for a staffer.

Dear Boris. I am 72 years old. I was born and have lived in London for most of that time. I could not wait to see the end of political correctness as practised "ad nauseam" by Ken Livingstone and was delighted when my family and I all helped to your election as Mayor of London by voting for you. You have the reputation of doing what is right (and even unconventional) and am therefore most disappointed at your treatment of James McGrath. What this man did was an opportunity for you to say that you support his sensible response to the paranoid comments of Darcus Hone 100%. Also another paranoid, Marc Wadsworth's suggestion that to call a black man "sunshine" was racist is also ludicrous. Do us all a favour Boris, and reinstate James McGrath. Regards, Len Freddi.
