Rumours of Boris’s next political step…

July 28, 2006

The first rumours are hitting the press of Boris’s next possible step in the political minefield. Kevin Maguire mentions in the New Statesman that Boris may take over from Theresa May at Leader of the House. Is that a promotion, or a sideways step?!

Boriswatch – Prize Draw!

July 8, 2006

I thought I’d take a minute to thank all the Boriswatchers for their fantastic support in the last few years. Boriswatch wouldn’t be what it is without its eagle-eyed contributors – sending in links, sightings and suggestions almost daily. Recent media appearances of Boriswatch has ramped up the site’s success, and Boriswatch would like to give something back.
So, from today until the end of July, Boriswatch would like to offer a cracking deal – if you donate 5 pounds or more to the Boriswatch coffers (which are frankly straining under the amount of visitors lately), you’ll be entered into a Boriswatch Prize Draw. Three donators will be picked at random to select their choice of item from the BorisShop – COMPLETELY FREE!
So click the donation button – either below or on the left hand panel – and cross your fingers!

Independent profiles Boris’s Education role

July 6, 2006

The Independent has an fascinating profile of Boris published today. “Hard Work – and Blond Ambition” reports on the growing support for him in his role as Shadow Higher Education Minister. Over the past few months, Boris has ramped up his political visibility and articles like this are doing him no harm. Interestingly, the media now seem to be glossing over his turbulent personal life, which can only be a good thing for Boriswatchers eager for him to shimmy up the political flagpole!
Thought I’d end with a cracking description of Boris that I found in an article from The Stage: “Boris Johnson, naturally… provides the nation with a walking, cycling mass entertainment industry just by getting up in the morning.” Damn right. ;-)
