There’s a couple more Boriscards up and running - one for birthdays, one for no reason at all

Boriswatch was agog this morning with news that Boris’s weekly column in The Telegraph was missing - wasn’t it ready? Had something happened to Boris?
The ever-present Melissa was on hand on the official site to put us right - it seems Boris’s column was inexplicably replaced at the last minute with an article by Michael Howard. As Scaryduck put it on Boris’s official site - “there are whole swathes of the paper (the Style section, for example) that I doubt anybody would miss”, but they chose Boris’s column. Maybe it’s another sign of Boris’s pennance to his political master.

Driven to despair by the recent lack of Boris news, regular readers have taken to sending in their own news titbits.
- Regular contributor Macarnie believes he has found the answer to “Is Boris the Messiah” in an oyster bearing, so he claims, the face of Boris! Here it is - see what you think. Is this a sign of good things ahead for Bozza?
- Boriswatch reader Adam points out that Boris has “14-1 odds on Boris being recalled to the Shadow Cabinet. Although [some articles have] said”, Adam continues, “that most would prefer him in a dark closet”.
- … meanwhile, many others (including bigbird_uk, HotMale098 and thomsonp have bemoaned the lack of Boris anecdotes in the news recently. “I’ve almost stopped visiting boriswatch every couple of hours,” bigbird_uk imparts, “I swear if I don’t see the glorious Boris moptop in the next few days I’ll burst into little pieces”. Don’t leave a mess now will you, bigbird_uk?!

Well, a Happy New Year to all Boriswatch readers. I must admit, it’s been quite a low key one this year, but it was just the ticket for your increasingly-mature website host.
You must be wondering what Boris is doing. You and me both, dear reader. There was no news at all in the run up to Christmas apart from his usual Telegraph column. A mild upturn in the past few days though, with an appearance on the Radio 4 Today programme spouting forth about the three minute silence, and further Boris-attributed words on the whole disaster in the press.
So after the turkey has been digested, discarded or fed to the dog, our thoughts - naturally - turn to Boris in 2005. Now that his skeleton has come out of the closet, will this be a comeback year for the Great Bozza? Will he gradually edge back into view again, delighting us all with his anecdotes and lexicon? And will he, as the Guardian so often demands, have to focus on one career to achieve the heights he deserves? I hope not - but only time will tell.
