ThisIsLondon surmises whether Boris could be a future Tory leader: Could Public School toff be future leader?. Our answer? Of course he could, the floppy-haired funster!
As Boriswatch wrote a couple of weeks ago, Boris has a new book. Out in September, Seventy-Two Virgins is Boris’s first work of fiction, and likely to be a cracker. So why not click here and preorder it from Amazon? I’ve bought mine…
Boris appearance on Question Time caused customary mirth last night, with Boris making valid and sometimes brave points on schools, smacking and the political inword “choice”. But wait – did I detect a hint of steely determination from Boris, a gritty and more forceful edge to the usual lovable fellow? Perhaps the beginnings of a new, even more effective performance. Favourite bit? When Boris was heard mumbling to himself, causing David Dimbleby to cut short his commentary and ask, “What ARE you muttering about, Boris?”
Tracking Boris takes time and funds. So I thought I’d bring you up to speed on the advertising box you can see up the top there. Some people have commented that I shouldn’t be making money out of the legend of Boris. The truth is until that was put up, I was losing money. The bandwidth costs, the advertising on Google, the time taken to build the site – all these things cost, and that little box is merely helping me to break even! Thank you so much to those that have contributed so far – you should all have received a personal thank you by now. So, by all means, click away on that box, even donate if you feel the need to support Boriswatch, but most of all, enjoy the site – it’s made for you, you warm and fuzzy Boris followers you.
Boriswatch gets namechecked in an Independent interview with Boris – The Monday Interview with Boris Johnson. I’ve a feeling Boris may know about us…
“Spotted!” write Jon M. “Approx. 8:45pm 30/6/04, at the bus stop in front of St George Bloomsbury Church, Boris pedalling along New Oxford Street in the direction of Holborn.
“I rather lamely exclaimed “Hey Boris!” as he cycled past, to which he shot what I can only describe as a sheepish but grateful smile in my direction. Caught up with him a few minutes later on my own two wheeled transport, but he was wobbling along and I, travelling at a much greater speed, did not stop to chat further.
“That’s it. Sorry.”
No need for apologies, Jon – “tracking Boris Johnson” in it’s most literal sense…
AK13.com has a nice article analysing Boris’s off-the-cuff plan to start a “national poetry Olympiad”: Rhyme And A Reason.
